What it worked out on its own
One zig-zag generated once and used twice: the stub keeps everything above the perforation, the page keeps everything below, so the torn edge belongs to both and the fibres line up.
The page accelerates and rotates about the corner it was held by, because paper falls rather than slides.
The date arrives eight frames before the page has left. Waiting for a clean hand-off leaves a hole in the middle of a six-second piece.
