What it worked out on its own
Slow is a design, not an absence. The gallery is about how many there are; this is about how long you spend on each, and the only difference in the code is the beat.
One warm light from the top left and a deep shadow bottom right, so the prints sit on a surface. The same photographs on a neutral ground read as a contact sheet.
The caption is set in a handwriting face on the print's own border and tilts with it — a caption in the layout's sans is a label, not a note someone wrote.
